Katherine “Kat” grew up in eastern North Carolina, where she began her movement journey through gymnastics at a young age. She competed in rhythmic gymnastics, highlighted by her competing at the Junior Olympics in Seattle, Washington. As a preteen, she transitioned into dance training at the NC Academy of Dance Arts.

Kat went on to earn her BFA in Dance Performance from East Carolina University in 2017, studying under esteemed instructors Galina Panova and Tommi Galaska. She continued her training during summers with intensives at the American Dance Festival, BODYTRAFFIC, Koresh Dance Company, and RUBBERBAND Dance.

Now based in Philadelphia, Kat works as a project-based performing artist and a licensed massage therapist. She has performed with companies including Gunnar Montana, Brian Sanders’ JUNK, and Artist House/Asya Zlatina + Dancers.

A dedicated teacher and coach, Kat is passionate about helping young students reach their goals and discover a love for dance and acrobatics. 2025 marks her 10th year of teaching and coaching!
